Modern studies on pharmacologic action prove that Wuhui Yushan Capsule yields the following actions:
1. It alleviate disorders of smooth muscle of intestinal tract.
2. Improvement on gastrointestinal motility. 1.0g/kg and 1.5g/kg of this product were administrated to mice. Methyl orange method revealed that it improves gastric emptying.
3. Analgesic effect
Hot plate and acetic acid torsion methods in mice showed that this product yields certain improvement on pain threshold, and may reduce the writhing rate by over 50%.
4. Anti-inflammatory effect
This product was administrated to mice in dose of 0.636g/kg, 1.272g/kg and 2.543g/kg, respectively, once a day continuously for 5 days. The result revealed that it yields remarkable inhibition on the growth of granuloma induced by cotton ball under the subcutis.
Clinically, this product is commonly used in direct and indirect inguinal hernia, orchitis, epididymitis, gastrointestinal dysfunction, enterospasm and algomenorrhea.
1. 152 cases with direct or indirect inguinal hernia were administrated with this product, 3 capsules 3 times a day continuously for one month. One capsule was added for severe cases in the morning and evening, respectively. According to statistics, the total effective rate was 96.05%, including 62 cases basically recovered (40.79%), 48 cases remarkably improved (31.58%), 36 cases improved (23.68%), and 6 cases ineffective (3.95%).
2. 95 cases with orchitis or epididymitis were administrated with this product, 3 capsules 3 times a day continuously for one month. One capsule was added for severe cases in the morning and evening respectively. According to statistics, the total effective rate was 91.58%, including 28 cases basically recovered (29.48%), 35 cases remarkably improved (of 36.84%), 24 cases improved (25.26%), and 8 cases ineffective (8.42%).
3. 83 cases with gastrointestinal disorders were administrated with this product, 3 capsules 3 times a day continuously for one month. One capsule was added for severe cases in the morning and evening respectively. According to statistics, the total effective rate was 92.77%, including 25 cases basically recovered (30.12%), 27 cases remarkably improved (32.53%), 25 cases improved (30.12%), and 6 cases ineffective (7.23%).
4. 56 cases with algomenorrhea were administrated with this product, 3 capsules 3 times a day continuously for three menstrual cycles. It is taken 2 days before menstruation and stop it 3 days after the onset. According to statistics, the total effective rate was 89.29%, including 20 cases basically recovered (35.72%), 16 cases remarkably improved (28.57%), 14 cases improved (25.00%), and 6 cases ineffective (10.71%).
